As a child, I loved peeking through the cracks of a door quietly watching the kitchen or living room from behind a narrow slit. Through a small gap, one can see into a wide open space. But from within that openness, the narrowness of the gap remains hidden; one can only sense someone’s presence through clues like whether a light is on or off.
This work is an attempt to fill that moment the space of a slightly opened door with something new. It is a gap filled with another kind of gap.
